Ed,
I guess you're pretty much at the same point where I was when I
first moved here two years ago from California. But I was already
interested in visiting big churches, so it wasn't hard to find them
on the Web. I don't know what kind of church you're looking for,
but I see that you're not that far from Tacoma, so there should be
plenty around there that you can check out, if Gig Harbor doesn't
seem to provide what you're looking for. If you're interested in
just starting a search from scratch, you can try this URL:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/U_S__States/Washington/Metropolitan_Are
as/Seattle_Metro/Community/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/
(You'll probably have to manually paste the address as one line into
your browser, because this Yahoo editor that I'm using tends to
split up long lines.)
Of course, even better still would be if people here can provide
some possible leads, so that you won't just be going in blind.
Sounds like Darcy knows of some good ones near her, if you're
willing to drive that far. (Unfortunately the only churches I know
of are either in Seattle or the Eastside.) It might also help if
you tell us what kind of church you're looking for, in order to
narrow down the possibilities a bit. I imagine there are lots of
different denominations represented in this group.
