Is it just me, or does the new Lincoln Square in downtown Bellevue always
have a lot of snobby-looking rich people walking around? Like, why do you
need to be all dressed up to hang around the mall on a Saturday night?!
Sheesh, I even saw an extra-long limo parked in the street! Is it always
like this, or was there something special going on tonight that I don't know
about? My usual instinct is to think that it's some kind of high school
formal, but most of these people looked a lot older than high school
students.
Anyway, the reason I was in downtown Bellevue was because I was planning to
eat dinner at Cucina Cucina there, because I hadn't been to the Bellevue
location in a long time. Well, it turns out, it's not there anymore. So
much for that idea. And since I was determined to eat at Cucina Cucina, I
ended up going to the one at Carillon Point in Kirkland. I ordered
something called Jumbalaya Cavatappi, basically a curly pasta containing
chicken and some kind of sausage and some kind of spicy tomato sauce. It
was pretty good, but it got really spicy after a while. I ended up getting
a refill of water halfway through, and I also asked for some bread (which I
didn't realize was free, but you have to ask for it). I worked up much more
of a sweat eating that stuff than I did swing dancing at the Crossroads Mall
earlier. (Well, I only danced one song there before I suddenly got hungry
and remembered that I hadn't had dinner yet.)
In other news, I'm starting to keep a list of some of the local Starbucks
hours in my cell phone. There are so many of them around, all with
different hours, so it's hard to remember what times they close on various
days of the week. So far, I've got the two Redmond Town Center locations,
and earlier this afternoon I got the one in Bear Creek Plaza, and I also got
the Crossroads one when I was there tonight. And I already know that the
one on NE 85th St. in Kirkland is open until midnight and has a 24-hour
drive thru.
Anyway, that's just a bunch of stuff about tonight that I felt like sharing
for no particular reason, just like most other stuff I talk about. I hope
you're all having a good weekend. I think I might go see "Firewall" (the
new Harrison Ford movie) tomorrow.
