CANADA'S MUSIC MAILORDER SOURCE
WWW.STORMINGTHEBASE.COM ( http://www.STORMINGTHEBASE.COM )

This week: Hello, happy August, and a happy long weekend to many of
our Canadian friends!! This week, we are pleased to announce the
release of what just might be ALBUM OF THE YEAR from Dependent. Yup,
that's right, Septic 8 is launching next month, and Storming the Base

feature 17 of the coolest industrial, EBM, and synthpop tracks you'll
hear for a long time, it also has many newcomer acts that are bound to
convince you that the music scene is going strong! We are also excited
because one of the Septic acts, Encephalon, will be providing us with
their new EP in a short two weeks, so fans of new, cool
(and--hey!--Canadian!!)industrial music can get a special limited
edition EP in their mailbox very soon. The EP features 7 tracks and is
seriously worth getting! Next up, Spiralchords launches the new album
from industrial-metal group We Got This Far. New EBM stomper
iVandensphere is dropping shortly. Electric Tremor Dessau gives us
old-school EBM from Sequenz-E and the new album from The Blister
Exists. And we are finally listing all new 2009 titles from Hands

THE BLISTER EXISTS "RAW"
Dominic Sahs is not a man of compromises: When he was a member of
the Altmark-Electros, he couldn't fully realize his music visions. So
he started to do his very own thing with Judge:Dred and finally left
his former project. Personal reasons made it impossible for him to
life in his old home, so he moved to Sweden and started all over
again. When he had enough of the name Judge:Dred, he spontaneously
launched The Blister Exists and got the energetic Swede Joanna R. on
board, who had already been proving her striking qualities as a live
drummer before and background vocalist. Sahs music takes no prisoners.
With his debut album "Raw"he even throws a double load of extra
aggression on the table. Having been produced in the studios of
Pouppée Fabrikk, the merciless album "Raw" is finally more than just
a simple collection of 15 EBM tracks. Again and again, deep shout
vocals and crude drums are being pushed ahead by all-destroying
staccato sequencers. There is not a single calm moment, and as if this
wasn't enough, it is the most prominent shouting organ of the scene,
Johan Damm (Menticide, former Dupont), who had been recruited for a
guest appearance! "Raw"is the ultimate electro-acoustic violence, the
long-awaited surrogate for friends of Swedish EBM in general and - due
to the many similarities - especially for the fans of Pouppée
Fabrikk. Inspiring, but not copied, 100 percent old school, but not
old hat -Electric Tremor Dessau presents one of the harshest and best
electronic albums of the year! Available August 31st, 2009.

INDIVIDUAL TOTEM - MUMIA VERA +COLLECTOTEM: 2CD SET OUT THIS
SEPTEMBER!

A long time ago, Individual Totem emerged as one of Germany's most
innovative industrial bands. But even their most hardcore fans are not
aware of the first real Totem release: a cassette-only album called
Mumia Vera. Now hopelessly out of print and all but forgotten, Mumia
Vera represents the early stages of Individual Totem, a unique sound
that is years ahead of its time, and the seeds of what would become
one of the top industrial bands of the 90s. This Fall, Artoffact
Records will re-issue a new version of Mumia Vera, completely
remastered and re-tweaked from the original cassettes, and
incorporating the original artwork. What is more, Mumia Vera will be
released as a limited edition double CD, including the entire Flow EP
(including the Fortress A remix, one of the best tracks ever recorded,
period). The release will also feature previously unreleased live
material, and the limited edition will come with two new Individual
Totem pins. More information coming soon!

Get your Totem fix on iTunes: www.itunes.com/individualtotem

***** HOT PRE-ORDERS

TERRORFAKT "RE/EVOLUTION"
Acidic and harsh, TERRORFAKT’s music is unavoidable. The fast
paced and heavy beats bite at the eardrums and reverberate through the
body, blurring one's vision and rapidly transporting them to another
world. Re/Evolution is a looking forward /looking back type of release
which features some classic out of print TERRORFAKT material, in
addition to a few songs that were never "officially" released, and
some new remixes and some new studio material. While this may satiate
the longing for a new studio album, Re/Evolution can stand on its own
as one of TERRORFAKT’s best releases. Released on Metropolis and
available October 13th, 2009.

CESIUM 137 "IDENTITY"
Metropolis Records is proud to announce the return of
Philadelphia’s Cesium_137. Never an act to stagnate musically, the
new album Identity finds the band once again pushing the boundaries of
electronic music. Seamlessly combining EBM, pop, and trance has been
Cesium_137’s modus operandi since its inception, and it quickly
becomes evident that they have once again hit their mark. From the
opening notes of “Embers”, Identity proves to be harder, darker,
and more driving than any of C137’s previous works, while still
delivering the melodies that have become their signature sound.
Released on Metropolis and available October 6th, 2009.

OMEGA LITHIUM "DREAMS IN FORMALINE"
If Lithium comes into contact with the skin, it can cause severe
chemical burns. Lithium salts, on the other hand, are used to treat
bipolar disorders, mania and depression. But these are by no means all
of the applications of that chemical element with the atomic number 3,
because in combination with Omega, the last letter of the Greek
alphabet, Lithium forms an acoustic drug with a highly addictive
quality: Omega Lithium! Their penchant for chemical substances is also
reflected by the title of their debut album, “Dreams In
Formaline”. Formalin is an aqueous solution, a mix of formaldehyde
and methanol which is used to preserve bodies and anatomical and
biological preparations. Proceeding from this concept, the musicians
from Croatia asked themselves what a person who has been preserved in
formalin dreams: is there anything to conserve our thoughts and stop
us from looking for more – to protect us and at the same time stop
us from perceiving the real world? Is our reality only a formalin
dream, after all? Eleven profound tracks see Omega Lithium get to the
bottom of these and other questions relating to social conflict,
conspiracies and the dark side of humanity. At the same time, this new
sonic drug is intended to combat the rampant consumerism of western
civilisation.“By definition, consumerism is the equalisation of
personal happiness with consumption and the acquisition of
possessions”, guitarist Malice Rime explains. “It makes people
lazy and indifferent, in addition to becoming stupid and easy to
manipulate.” Omega Lithium rebel against this condition with
philosophical depth, enthralling harshness and great passion, because
these four musicians want to shake up and move their listeners. And
their rousing creations are definitely not suitable for lazing around,
but encourage the urge to move and inspire the cinema in their
listeners’ heads. Released on Ewave and available September 18th,
2009.

ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO "PULSION"
Dominic Pulsión is the all new album by legendary Esplendor
Geometrico, the influential and acclaimed Spanish duo of survivors of
the second Industrial wave of the early Eighties! It includes nine
tracks recorded between november 2008 and May 2009. Some have been
already been played during their last performances in Leipzig, Madrid
and Barcelona with great success. Pulsión is in fact the album that
follows their so far latest‘new’ album ‘Compuesto de Hierro’
(2003), as the CD+DVD release ‘8 Traks and Live’(2007) has to be
considered as a kind of ‘transition-release’, being a record made
to accompany the DVD, and containing some tracks that were in fact new
versions of older ones. Esplendor Geométrico’s style continues to
have that absolutely unique and unmistakable mark, that distinguishes
them from later bands, they had a major influence on. At first sight,
Pulsión is based on the electronic manipulation of sounds together
with irresistible rhythms, repetitive, machine-like, industrial,
hypnotic, sometimes tribal, sometimes danceable, that mix up with
voices and chants. Some of them are taken fom traditional arab and
oriental musics (Mongolia, China,Tibet…) to be later electronically
manipulated, others are simply speech fragments, such as the one by a
leader of a radical party in Japan, Che Guevara, or an anti-occidental
harangue from an islamist leader. But the idea of EG is not to
transmit any political or ideological message, the spurces have been
chosen for their strength and sonority. The first edition of the new
album comes in a digipak CD with booklet. Released on Geometrik and
available September 10th, 2009.

ISOLRUBIN BK "CRASH INJURY TRAUMA"
Investigation of an automobile death is frequently inadequately
conducted by medical investigators, partly because important questions
are not anticipated at the time of the investigation. There are many
facets of the investigation and each one has far-reaching
consequences. The importance of proper handling of an automobile
fatality cannot be over stressed. The following components of
investigation procedures should not be neglected:[1] Scene
investigation with photographs. [2] Complete autopsy with recording of
injuries by description, drawings and photographs. [3] Evidence
collection -clothing, glass traces, oil, paint, rust, and blood spots.
[4] Follow-up studies- blood typing, analysis for carbon monoxide (if
fire), alcohol (always), amphetamines (especially in truck drivers),
and other drugs (if indicated). Crash Injury Trauma is a shocking and
disturbing album, unflinching and relentless in its fascination with
violent car accidents. Tires skid and horns blare, followed by the
sickening sounds of crashing metal and shattering glass, screams,
sirens and heart-pounding bass. Its a cruel, sadistic and horrifying
tour de force in the ambient and power electronics genre. B. Lustmord
released Crash Injury Trauma in 1993, as a side project, under the
pseudonym Isolrubin BK. Following Heresy and The Monstrous Soul, and
preceding The Place Where The Black Stars Hang, the album was recorded
during what is now considered a pivotal period in the British artists
career. Out of print for nearly a decade, this new 2009 edition has
been remastered from the ground up, and is presented in completely
redesigned packaging. B. Lustmord has been actively pushing the
boundaries of sound for nearly 30 years and has a remarkably broad and
diverse list of credits, including an extensive discography of his own
highly regarded recordings, including fifteen Lustmord releases. He
has collaborated with a wide variety musicians, ranging from
Industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle and SPK to alt rock mainstays
Tool and Melvins. He has also worked on television shows, commercials
and games, including Unreal Tournament III and Assassin's Creed, as
well as on more than forty motion pictures, including The Crow, The
Craft, Pitch Black and Underworld. Based in Los Angeles, he is
currently he is working on new Lustmord material as well as Puscifer,
an ongoing project with Maynard James Keenan of Tool and A Perfect
Circle. Released on Soleilmoon and available August 31st, 2009.

ARECIBO "TRANS PLUTONIAN TRANSMISSIONS"
Sources for cosmological activity utilized include: pulsars,
quasars, thermal radiation, synchroton radiation, electron particle
interaction, radio galaxies, remains of supernova explosions and
background radiation. This activity is monitored by the Jet Propulsion
Laboratory in Pasadena, California. The command center of NASAs Deep
Space Network, a series of radio telescopes located at Goldstone,
California, Madrid, Spain and Canberra, Australia. Arecibos Trans
Plutonian Transmissions was first released by German label Atmosphere
in 1994. It has been out of print for nearly a decade, and, whenever a
rare copy appears for sale, changes hands for ridiculous prices. This
new 2009 edition has been remastered from the ground up, and is
presented in completely redesigned packaging. Interviewed by
AmbiEntrance, B. Lustmord described Arecibo as a side project of
sorts, where I indulge myself in music that doesn't fit into the
Lustmord concept. Using audio recordings of quasars, pulsars and other
deep space sources, B. Lustmord weaves a deeply haunting and
atmospheric album. Reviewing the music for Amazon.com, Yorgos Dalman
captured the essence of the recording perfectly when he wrote The
entire album could indeed be the soundtrack to the universe itself,
with senses of vast cosmic plains, empty voids, infinite darkness,
lonely, ever turning planets and immense large, desolate carpets of
stars. Released on Soleilmoon and available August 31st, 2009.

PETER BJARGO "A WAVE OF BITTERNESS"
The awesome soloalbum of Arcana Mastermind Peter Bjärgö. The
mentor of the legendary Swedish cult-act ARCANA has put together and
recorded a real Masterpiece in the first months of this year, in his
very own studio. ‘A Wave of Bitterness’ turned out to be a Dark
Ambient jewel with pale insertions of other styles too, the most
visible of these being the Ethno sounding percussion resembling Dead
Can Dance. It is a replica of what Brendan Perry is doing versus the
notorious band he once was part of, that’s how this album can be
seen versus the history of Arcana. Released on Kalinkaland and
available August 31st, 2009.

SORIAH(WITH ASHKELON SAIN) "ATLAN"
Atlan has its roots in the ceremonial: ritualism, shamanism, butoh.
Master Tuvan throat singer Soriah teams up with prolific soundscaper
Ashkelon Sain to create a totally breathtaking album. Soriah conjures
up a haunting sonic otherworld, drifting, dreamy, a rumbling, whirring
ambient dronescape, thick with natural timbre and dense with subtle
overtones. The eleven tracks employ a host of Central Asian ethnic
stringed instruments alongside atmospheric synths and hypnotic hand
percussion to form a simmering backdrop for Soriah's mesmerizing
vocals intoned in the ancient Aztec language of Nahuatl. Released on

AEROSOL"AIRBORNE"
Airborne is the 2nd album from Rasmus Rasmussen's Aerosol project.
Starting out as a member of the post-rock band Limp (Morr Music) with
band mates Jonas Munk (manual), Jakob Skøtt (syntaks) and Jess Kahr,
Rasmussen helped incubate a certain sound that the of the four have
nurtured in each of their solo endeavors. Rasmussen's take on the sun
drenched post-shoegaze of the "post-limp collective" has a more
defined sense of psychedelia and openness than his mates. This
heightened sense of consciousness-expansion is all without ever being
contrived, heavy handed or excessive. There is a self-awareness to
Airborne that can be heard in spades on the aptly titled swirly
slow-burn of "Psychedelic Coffee Buzz". A song written about a tour
around Morocco, were we are very sure that sleep deprivation, sunrises
and of course coffee play key roles in its expanses. Tracks like the
bookend pieces of"Midnight Ride Down the Mental Freeway" and "Softly
Slipping" are blissed-out electronic shoegaze featuring sure-stepped
percussion, chiming guitars, synth-lines seemingly made of aether and
steadfast acoustic guitar lines. This is personal listening at its
best. Every song is a landscape and every one of those hazy landscapes
has a story. You'll just need to get Airborne for the anecdote.
Released on n5MD and available October 5th, 2009.

GOLGATHA "THE WASTE LAND"
The German ritual-folk-formation :Golgatha: was founded in 2004 by
Christoph Donarski. The first full length album ‘Waste Land’ after
two compilation tracks appeared in an edition of 100 hand-numbered
CD-rs. Published by the musician himself it shed first light on things
to come. ‘Waste Land’ is the rare prequel to the acclaimed and
successful 2008-album ‘Sang Graal’ (with Dawn & Dusk Entwined) and
is itself inspired by T. S. Eliot’s enigmatic grail-poem ‘The
Waste Land’ which works as a key metaphor for a spiritually dying
world. On “Waste Land” sinister and pessimistic soundscapes unfold
and spread fragmented allusions and remarks on spiritual death and
cultural clash. The symbolic name of :Golgatha: - which is the
execution hill in Jerusalem where Jesus had been crucified - was never
more fitting than in this early apocalyptic soundtrack for an Inner
Cinema, carried by ritual drums, dark drones, mysterious sounds and
sacred voices. For this re-release the original sound was totally
re-mastered and appears more powerful than ever before. The original
artwork is added by bleak photos from the same era to complete the
image. This CD contains two original versions of tracks later remixed
by Dawn & Dusk Entwined for ‘Sang Graal’. Bonus tracks: two
combined tracks from ‘In the Crystal Cage’-compilation (2004) and
‘Shred your skin’ from the SAW II-soundtrack by Charlie
Clouser(Trisol). ‘Waste Land’ is a terrifying soundtrack for the
Kali Yuga, the darkest of ages. Comes in a 6-panel digipak. Released
on Cold Meat Industry and available August 31st, 2009.

JOHN FOXX & LOUIS GORDON"IMPOSSIBLE"
John Foxx, the man behind Ultravox's first three post-punk albums
and his electro solo masterpiece Metamatic (described as 'visionary'
by the Klaxons), releases two news albums –Impossible and A New Kind
Of Man. This follows 2009's critically acclaimed Mirrorball (with
Robin Guthrie), which was described as a 'breathtakingly beautiful' in
the NME and by Q as featuring the 'best of both their recent works:
Foxx's epic, sepulchral grandstanding and Guthrie's intricate, filmic
soundscaping.' A New Kind Of Man was recorded on Foxx's 2007 Metamatic
Tour and includes live versions of all the tracks off the pioneering
electronic album, plus B-sides and rarities. As Uncut comments, 'This
is the Klaxons' all-time favourite album apparently but its influence
moves immeasurably beyond that', while The Sunday Times recognizes
that Metamatic is 'a hugely influential album and still an eerie
experience to hear it all these years later.' Mojo raved about its
minimalist approach, concluding that it's cold electronics and stark
vocals make it 'one of the most under-emoted records in pop history.'
Meanwhile, John Foxx & Louis Gordon’s album, Impossible features two
new tracks -‘Adult Concerns’ and ‘Walk This Way’ - plus 10
re-worked versions of previously released material including classics
such as 'Dislocation' and 'The Man Who Dies Every Day'.. Some of these
are completely new arrangements, others are closer to the live
versions. There’s a raw, analogue, fractured, aggressive style to
the material - the closest in sound is Foxx Gordon's 2003’s Crash &
Burn but it’s heavier than that album, featuring ‘rusty metallic
synths’, live improvisations and ’shredded’ vocals. William
Burroughs, Del Toro and the strobe-lit techno-punk imagery of early
Ultravox! are all reference points on one of the darkest albums John
Foxx has released in years. Released on Metamatic and available
