Bendicion santeros mayores y menores..

alafia to all

I just have a question in particular about candles. Does it have a
meaning when the candle glass brakes or when it turns black around it.

I'm asking because I been lighting candles (two since I have santo) to
my olokun and this is the third time one of glass brakes and it has
like a shadow of a man and a woman. It is really weird.

waiting for a response if any abures have any feedback i'll appreciated.

Thanks,

Omo Obba

Out of curiosity (being Nosy) why are you lighting so many Candles to Olokun?
When you say you have santo.. means you received Olokun or you did Kari Ocha?

Claudia,

You need to realize that Olokun represents stability and firmness, if this is
something that you currently do not have in your life or your path of Ocha,
Olokun is trying to send you that message. You really need to figure out which
path to chose and walk that path. Stay with it and bring stability into your
life. Once you have chosen your path, you need to make your intentions known
and go full steam ahead. Also check your health, the shadow in the candle
speaks of bad physical health, blood related.

Well if you light a candle to Olokun put some thought into why your doing it..
and then determine why the candles are coming out the way they are.

I know people who keep lighting candles until the candle bottle comes out white.
White is a light of progress.

The reason why I asked is because it is SAID that olokun is one of the orisha's
that is not to be bothered too much. She is for your stability, health, wealth
and all the ire that may come your way.

Alafia:

I believe what our member is stating is that Olokun is associated with
Egun, i.e., spirit.
There are hundreds of thousands of our ancestors at the bottom of the
Ocean. I was also told this about Olokun. In fact, my Iya de Olokun,
who has over 60 years at this point, 50 years when I received Olokun,
told me to keep my Olokun near my boveda. So, yes, there is a strong
connection between Olokun and Egun (spirits).

what the candles might mean.. I really do respect each of your
opinions and suggestions...
I didn't mean to start up something on what olokun is or what is
not..

Thanks again !!!

Last night I had to dreams one was that I was battling three grey figures and
it
was a very intense fight and all of the sudden my seven year old son yells out
for me to
come to him, I ran over and he was sound asleep, I gave him a kiss and went
back to sleep when I got to my bed I said a prayer for him to be protected
and then I realized that my body was aching as if I had a major fight. then
I had a dream that I lit candles in two groups and I was there with someone
else just admiring the way the candles were burning with a golden Flame the
two groups of candles became two humiod figures glowing a golden color and
they started to mimic everything we did, every time the man that was with me
would tap on the wall the one next to him would tap on the wall this one was
blond but with a golden glow and the other one was albino also had a golden
glow and this one I saw every detail of her skin color and every her
eyelids, she was almost blind but had a great sense of hearing she was
capturing everything that was going on around her, as the man who was with
me was entertained by tapping on the wall and making the other one do what
he did I sat down in front of the albino one and this is when I noticed that
she was blind because as I was talking to her she was looking for the sound
and she apologized and said that she was a little blind, I told her don't
worry sometimes I have a little trouble seeing also, she told me that I was
very polite and that this was a blessing, I replied to her that this is the
way my mother brought me up to respect all especially the spirits. As we
were talking I could see that she was very cold to the point that she was
shivering then all of the sudden she leaned over to me as if to tell me
something in the ear and she penetrated me we became one and I started to
feel very cold also shivering and the man that was with me saw this and sat
down as in a state of shock I told him that I was very cold then all of the
sudden I heard a voice come from with in me that she felt nice and warn next
to my heart and he tried to get the other one to do the same thing but all
he got was a hug, then all of the sudden my seven year old son walks into my
room and
wakes me up and I found that I was cold and sweating at the same time. I
don't know if this dream has anything to do with anything that is going on
but the last dream saw very beautiful just seeing them convert from candles
glowing gold to humans with a golden glow and seeing them was so very
special.

any input will be appreciated.

Are u in a custody debate about ur son? I am sorry if i'm wrong. I feel the
female spirit is confirming a soft mount. U worry about ur son a lot, Obatala
appears as an albino sometimes; ask for clarity & light for this matter. Hence
all the candles. I hope that helps, i'm sorry if not.

I have read on a certain web page that Shangos beads are red and black

the source or link the page? To my knowledge Shango's bead are always red and
white.

Hi D, Shango beads are always alternating red and white regardless of
tradition. That is the same all over the New World, including Brazil,
Cuba and Trinidad. I believe what you read on that web page was a
simple typo. The eleke they describe belongs to Elegua or Elegba. One
single white bead that Obatala gave him may be a refference to the
author's own personal tradition. Elegua is always predominantly
alternating black and red. Depending on the tradition some cultures
(and some houses) do include white beads, as well.

On a ritual level, one of the most important songs reffering to Shango
during an initiation does make refference to "red-and-white always
together". It also refers to undying loyalty between Shango and
Obatala. Red is the color of blood and, thus, life -Shango. White is
the color of peace and purity and, thus, Obatala. The white in Shango's
elekes are in honor of that relationship.

Black is a color only associated with "mysterious" and difficult to
understand Orishas. Elegua is most definitely considered "difficult."
Shango on the other hand is pretty easy to understand and so black
would never really be a suitable color.

I hope that helps.

However, I have seen elekes de Eleggua as black and white - very

One should not use a website to measure the standard by which a religous
practice is followed.

I am so very thankful and grateful for the love of my wife and my
daughter. It feels so good I feel like crying. I am so thankful to my
Mother and Father who created my physical body so I can have these
delicious experiences. I just want to thank The Universe and my
universe for bringing me the techniques of efficient living that I had
been seeking all these years….I am so very grateful to the Universe
for connecting me with abundance in love, and joy…health and wealth.
I am so very grateful for the many teachers I have received in their
many forms and sizes. I am so very grateful for the many experiences
that I have received …as my universe sought to please me in every way…
and nudge me along towards the goal of a Superior Man…. I am thankful
to have been able to release my restraining thoughts and open my
mind! Linking and connecting me with Your awesome power…hence my
awesome power. I am so very thankful. It feels good.
