MoonHowler Productions welcomes makeup artists, experts, and amateurs to discuss the many aspects of special effects makeup. Whether it be for stage, screen, or Halloween, bring your questions and suggestions. Since there is rarely any single way to achieve a given effect, please feel free to discuss the merits of your chosen method. In this way we can all learn something new. -Thank you, Dawn Emanuele and Joel Talacko
***************
This is the zombie costume Dawn won $500 for on Halloween.
Hat $4, Dress $9, and Shoes $2.50 all sprayed with three colors of spray paint. (I tried using cemetery dirt but it didn’t work.) Foam latex, by AEO Studios $35. Red and black tooth out $4. My nails were painted with white, tan, and black. Three of my fingers were painted with red nail polish to look like blood stains from eating brains. Severed head $40, filled with Raspberry Jell-o Shots. Rubber mask grease paint, liquid latex, wax/putty, sprit gum, toilet paper, barrier spray, powder, black and white hair spray are things I had on hand. I also had the yellow and red color contacts ($99), I only wore one to be disorientating. It took me about an hour and a half to get into the outfit and about an hour to get out. More pictures of this costume in Photos "Zombie Dawn '02". There are lots of pictures from last year, and more to come.
