Samahan ti Ilocano ditoy Saudi Arabia (SISA) was established last October 2002. It was organized by Professional Ilocanos headed by Mr. Abdullah A. Gacuan of Philippine National Bank (PNB)-Arab National Bank, Khamis Mushayt Branch. It is a pioneering association of Ilocanos in Assir Region. Its primary objective is to encourage, consolidate and unite all Ilocano speaking Filipinos with the principal intent of fostering fellowship and camaraderie, helping, sharing and looking after the welfare not only to its members but also to the whole Filipino Community in Saudi Arabia, providing a mutually supportive and positive environment for social, civic and economic upliftment in order to foster confidence and personal growth.
On Jan. 24, 2003, with all the efforts of its officers, His Excellency Honorable Consul General Kadatuan P. Usop of the Consulate of the Philippines in Jeddah officially inducted all Officers and Board of Directors of SISA. During his talk, he commented that SISA could be considered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that can engage in any urgent situation not only of Ilocanos but also individuals that may need its assistance. By means of his expectations, Officers of SISA is dedicated to perform their duties and responsibilities to obtain its goals and objectives.
