Roger, For that application use a 100 ohm 2 watt resistor across the motor terminals. It will get warm at higher speed settings, so keep it a inch or so away
I raised the original question since I have a Tsunami AT format decoder that I can't use in a locomotive right now, and wanted to test the unit feeding a PC

I would respectfully disagree with you on this. I also have several TSU's in a variety of engines with differing motors. But I don't think the Soundtraxx
