And to Andrea, I refuse...ABSOLUTELY REFUSE, to believe this has been abandoned.
I have known a couple authors to take years between updates. And in those cases,
patience always paid off. Let's have a little faith, shall we? It's depressing
otherwise.

Actually, whether or not Jono checks up on the group in his periods of
inactivity is still in debate. I'd honestly rather not take the risk of this
group being shut down. I like it too much. Still if it is abandoned. Speaking of
which, can moderators approve of people joining this group. I seem to recall
needing Jono to personally approve of my request to join. We could try a few
tests and see if he accepts?

yeah, geocities closed down. I think that the actual stories may still be
floating around even though the links to them are gone. But anyway, the files
are under the "Files" tab. If you still can't find them, I can send them to you.
I have the latest versions saved in my fanfic library.

I'm asking because my computer tells me they are no longer accessible. The

Geocities sites have been closed (the free sites, anyway), and that's what Jono
was using to let us read the files online easily. Try going through Files (in
this Yahoo!Group) instead of using the site.

Umh, hi,
has anybody tried to read the stories (SIAUL & SITPL) in the last few days? I'm
asking because my computer tells me they are no longer accessible. The website

You've probably already discussed this and I wasn't lurking carefully enough.

I came across a very nice story, which at first a doubted that it would be that
good. Much humor, action and drama. It's a crossover story based on the book of
LOTR and X men the movie (and logan is here the main character.

The reason people believe this stuff is because people so want to be rich and
quickly.
I love how they are "Oh, I am an attorney, blah blah blah...." I actually
laughed at this. btw, I am a 3,000 year old wookie, Geroge Lucas owes me money.
I dont know its kinda sad.

On the DarklordPotter forums, a few people have been asking if Jono is still
around. They say that they have applied to the group but havent been accepted
yet. That would indicate to me that Jono isnt checking this group anymore.
Or he just doesnt care.

Every experienced writer has their own style of writing ... their own way
of doing things as well as their own quirks. It would take a very talented
writer to even hope to match the work jono has done so far, for eg ... jbern is
the writer of one of favourite pieces of fanfiction ... yet if he touched the
stranger trilogy i would probably read a very good story ... then beat him about
the head for messing up jonos mojo. Jono is what makes the stranger trilogy what
it is. Just the way he puts everything over. The amount of forethought and
planning that went into this story is just amazing. It doesnt matter if anyone
adopts this story ... it just wouldnt be the same ... and I for one would still
be checking back for the Jono version.
I think the concern for jono doesnt stem from the lack of a chapter ... its just
the lack of general feedback.I do remember sometime within his last couple of
messages he specified internet access difficulties ... im just going to assume
that its something along those lines that is keeping us from hearing anything
from him ... though the lack of an "im alive" message is bit disappointing.

Well, I agree that someone trying to continue Jono's stories is useless, because
they simply have an unbelievably high standard.
But why not do something like it happens in Rorschach Blot's 'Make a Wish'?
Lots of people writing Omakes, even if they are very short, and simply posting
them on the group.
Then we have something to talk/laugh about and can 'delurk'.

Nice to see people are still alive. ;) (community of lurkers) lol
Thanks for answering the question about the 3rd installation.
The longest absence was just over a year I think.
Also thought about that angle where Jono was still logging on, just not posting
anything. Well, maybe its trouble irl with the financial debacle and everything.
Many people got burned.
Besides, I think in that Blackpool thread or something, Jono graduated and got

More importantly (since I'm sure some of us have forgotten xD)
What did Jono say about the Original Dark Harry ? Not in his Harry's original
body ?
I like the idea of a spin off, say....about Rose from Unholy Land ?
Agreed that any work based on this stuff would have to be original, just picking
up after Jono's stuff would be....difficult. xD

Generally, long absences of updates are usually the result of trying times
and/or writer's block. It may be that he is undergoing job difficulties

It could perhaps explain Jono's absence. Then again, it may not.

"A Stranger in his own Land" is the third title, at least my version of what it
should be. It just sounds cooler. :P Also, we had this debate a year or two ago,
if I remember correctly.

In response to arecnis101's question "Anyone know what the 3rd installation of
Stranger was to be named ?"
I remember in one of the author's notes that Jono mentioned that we would find
out what was happening in the Home Land later on. Based on this I would assume
that the title of the 3rd installment was to be "A Stranger in his Home Land" or
something similar.

To be honest, I don't like the idea of anyone dabbling with Jonos story. I loved
the Stranger Triology so much because Jono's an amazing storyteller and writer.
He knows how to develop characters and story arcs.
How could anyone even think of continue the stranger triology without knowing
what he planned for the future? You can't write a story if you don't know how
it'll end!
Anyone who thinks he or she is a good enough writer to take on where he left
off, why don't you develop your own story instead? From start to end. Nothing
speaks against writing something similiar. He didn't invent the travel between
universes thing. (It happens in every second Stargate Episode.) But please don't

Another good idea for someone to write would be how things happened with
Unholy Land's Harry, who suddenly got transported to Harry's body and began
to rise hell. well, I don't rememer right, but I'm pretty sure Jono didn't
say outright that he ended up on original Harry's body (could even havew
another Harry tangled up on the mess), still would be an great fic to read,
it is rare to find good evil harry stories, where he is evil and hell-bent
on his path (no redemption or anything else, he is EVIL, period).

Agreed. As it stands, writing something that would live up to or maybe surpass
what Jono has built would be a tough and time consuming project.
Still, it be cool to have this become like the WIKITT marriage law challenge.
Write a thriller where everything is wrong already. Dumbly dead. Grindelwald
actually a dark lord that poses a threat and Riddle is Headmaster of Hogwarts
(that was whammy)
One person or a committee...why not a bit of both ?
Anyone know what the 3rd installation of Stranger was to be named ?

Hrm, a committee? I'd kind of prefer seeing a completely chaotic bazaar, with
fifty different people simultaneously trying to peddle their own AU Stranger fic
to the masses. ;) Seriously though, I too doubt very many people would be
interested in taking on the challenge.
I'd want it to be someone that the community nominates however, if it was to
happen. I mean, how many people would actually be interested in writing it?
Is there even that much interest?

Hehehehe
While it would be supposedly "bad form" for someone to take over and continue
the fic without Jono's expressed permission, such things do happen.
And it would certainly be very interesting to see just how others view this fic.
Particulary the characters and where it might go.
While it has been quite a while I guess some people are still holding out in the
belief that one day Jono will continue it. Right out of the blue as he was apt
to do. Just part of the fun I guess was checking up on the site every now and
then just never knowing when Jono would update and finding that lovelmy message

1 New File. XDD *does victory dance*
Might it be one person or a group of people ?
Maybe there will be a whole new continuation with this becoming a round robin.
Whatever happens, would be interested in reading everyone comes up with.
