Hey,
    Is this group a dead one, or does anyone actually read anything
here?  I have some questions about the whole "straight edge scene".
I'm from a small town in Kansas, so there isn't a "scene" here.

    I know that straight edge was essentially started by Ian
MacKaye(sp?) when he was in Minor Threat, and that straight edgers
don't smoke, drink, do drugs, have sex before marriage, and that a lot
of them are vegans.  Oh, and the sXe symbol and the big X on the hand.
  Other than that I really don't know much about it.  Like the whole
putting a three digit number between two x's?  No clue about that.  Is
it supposed to be your area code?  I'm guessing that when you put a
name between x's (xbobx) that denotes a person who subscribes to
straight edge thought.  Could someone answer these questions for me?
Is there anything else I should know?

I would like to clairify.... The no sex thing BEFORE marrage people
dont generally follow that... Its generally just if you are in a
relationship with one person its ok..... i mean thats how it should
be for everyone you shouldnt have to label yourself to know that. I
know a lot of sXe kids that sleep around... not a good idea though.
lemme know if you want to know anything else XHollyX

straight edge means you listen to horrible horrible music. if it
means one less kid listens to bane, just dont get the edge.

everything you said is right, except alot of the "straightedge
scene" doesn't really follow the no sex before mariage thing.  it
was supposed to be no promiscious <sp?> sex however most sxe
scenestarz I know are sluts.

I know I haven't been in here in a really long time.  I thought I'd
stop by to let those who are interested know that my wife gave birth
to our first baby on 12/4/02 at 2pm.  He was 7 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches
long at birth.  I put a pic of Elijah and me in a folder named "me
and my baby" if anyone wants to check it out.

How is the weather for everyone?  The weather here in Phoenix is
pretty nice finally.  It's usually in the 70s during the day.  Summer
lasted way too long this year.

well, now let me ask. I know we are all die hard straight edge kids
here, but does anybody ever get the urge to smoke a blunt? come on!

For quite some time, I have witness the deterioration of the straight
edge scene. Well, I can only tell you this from the South Florida
perspective. I guess, it just isn't "cool" to be straight edge
anymore. The kids that were "x-ing" up last week are getting drunk at
the local Irish pub. Yet, it's not bothering me one bit. This might
sund really messed up, but, everytime the one week die hard straight
edge individual sells out, I laugh because this kid one day was frier
edge and now the kid is swimming in his own puke after getting drunk.
I know that I'm not perfect or better than anybody. In fact, tomorrow
I could be that individual "selling" out. yet, I highly doubted it
because I'm straight edge for my own well being and not because of a
trend, not because everyone else says it's cool to be straight edge.
In fact, sometimes the title "straight edge" bothers me because it
doesn't really define what I am as a whole. I'm also a dick! hahaha,
but really, straight edge places me in the same genre with a bunch of
people that I don't belive should be classified as straight edge like
the one week die hard straight edge kid. I think I might drop the
straight edge title. I will keep the same ideals, without the

The only reason i keep the label is to meet others of kindred spirit.
I am clean for ME, first and formost. It has nothing to do with
posturing or anything of the sort, but sometimes its just easier to
say "im straightedge" and people know what you're saying.

i'm moving out in may. with my wonderful girlfriend of 7 months. i've
dropped the all girls are dead attitutde. well for the most part hah.
christina has changed my attitutde all around for the most part.
which is good cause i can be a prick. but it's cool.

i'm still edge. i started a label and a distro. it's at
www.theminutethat.com  it doesnt get updated much because my computer
is completely fucked. but the label is being put on hold for atleast
a year. the record that was supposed to get put out got fucked up and
i have other priorities that demand my attention. the distro is up
and running and going good. there's more records then listed on teh
website so just ask. im paying off alot of bills and once thats done
there will be a lot more good stuff. i only carry records i enjoy. so
its fun for me all the time.

my puppy is crazy. shes cute too. i miss a lot of people on this
board. i watch a lot of movies. have almost the whole complete
simpsons toy collection. ride my bike and have fun. so anyone who
wants to get in touch please do. i miss yee.
