Talisman9 succeeds talisman@indiana.edu and talisman@umich.edu as a list for the free and open discussion of issues in the Baha'i Faith from an intellectual and spiritual point of view. Discussion is confined to issues in the mainstream, Haifan tradition; messages about other traditions are not permitted.

Talisman is a discussion list not a chat list. Messages are expected to be constructive. Posters should address the issue under discussion, backing up their opinions with evidence and argument. They must not include personal attacks or offensive or prejudicial comments. There is a limit of two messages per day for each subscriber.

Moderating is designed to achieve the ideals outlined above. Posters may not harass moderators if their messages are rejected. Those who persist in breaking the Talisman rules will be removed from the list after two warnings.

All messages about list moderation are to be sent, in the first instance, to the acting moderator and later, if necessary, to the list owner (talisman9-owner@yahoogroups.com). The acting moderator is identified in the headers of each Talisman message. Please do not send messages about moderating to the list.

Talisman messages may not be forwarded off-list to Baha'i officials without the express permission of the poster.
