Erm, Jimmy! I don't know what you're problem is, it just looks like Bert.
Somebody just used a different source image that's all, if someone dosen't like
it, then I'm sure they can provide a different image to base the design on!

Also I don't know how you were able to get away with using that offensive
abbriviation on here if this is a family group, though I don't know if anyone
else has used that term before. If so then I ask the moderators to look into it!

David.

Interesting and it explans a lot. Like perhaps why The Raccoons moved animation
houses in 1987 (that and because of costs I'd imagine) and why there wasen't a
season that officially began production for 1986.

that CBC actually took the series off the schedule for eight months, from
January 27-September 22, 1986, while the 1986 episodes were in production.

It's rumoured that Lisa Lougheed herself was used as a physical model for Lisa
Raccoon, as well as providing her voice and first name.

Hey David,

They switched animation houses because of some kind of disagreement with the
Atkinson management, I think. Does anybody still have that Canadian animation
book "Cartoon Capers"?

Also, I was wrong about that hiatus being the only one - CBC also took the show
off the schedule for almost 4 months (June 22-October 4) before the start of
season 2.

They may have done this in the leadup to each new season, possibly just to avoid
overplaying the repeats (which is why it was often pre-empted for specials,
sometimes for multiple consecutive weeks).

-Jeffrey

I also found out that the same thing happened

To quote an older post:

"Quality and merchandizing aside, Raccoons profited most from an
executive
shuffle within CBC. When Nada Harcourt, CBC's execufive producer of
children's programming, was promoted to head of drama, she took the
series
with her. It became the first animated TV series to hit prime time in
Canada, and the first local show purchased by the Disney Channel in
the
United States."

Apparently, The Raccoons started as a kids show.

"Raccoons was Atkinson-Crawley's financial artery in the early
eighties. But
in 1985, Gillis suspected that the company was over-charging, and
withheld
payments. In turn, Stevens pulled the plug on production, a move that
threatened the delivery date. The dispute was temporarily solved by a
cash
injection by the producers. A divorce was imminent. Wiseman and Gillis
wanted to control price and delivery"

"In 1986, Wiseman and Gillis set up their own studio on Hinton
Avenue. They
named it Hinton Animation Studios. It recruited much of its staff
from the
AtkinsonCrawley team."

Indeed, it was budget disputes that caused the birth of Hinton animation. Early
season 2 episodes like 'Double Play' and 'Blast from the past' went into
production in 1986.

Wow and I thought our schedules in England were delayed! Disagreements could be
a reason why, but I guess we'll never know until someone gives us an official
reason as to why?!

far no luck (I'm not even sure if the emails sent properly).

Ah I see what's going on.

Brother Ralph, maybe it's time to open a new group, probably just to house
Raccoon files like pictures, Mp3's and such, including Brexxie's track.

FYI, I haven't downloaded it yet either.

Hi David
I'd love to find a way to make new space for more files. Opening a new group
just for files is an option I guess, but I think it will cause confusion having
our resources split up. I'd like to clean up the files in this group by getting
rid of things that are not used, but I'm afraid I'm so pushed for time that I
haven't been able to do very much for this group recently. I wish I had the time
to try to make the group what it was in 2007, but unfortunately I can't spare
the time. There was talk of setting up a forum in a message board format rather
than an email list so that old topics would be easy to get at, but that plan
never got off the ground.
Sorry for my inactivity
BR
ps - sorry to be a bother werefox but the link was missing from the repost, lol.

Greeting and Happy New Year to everyone

I know this group is growing quieter recently. That's partly my fault because I
am so busy at the moment I have not been able to look after the group as well as
I should have, and the other Moderators have been missing in action for a few
years now. I would make another moderator to help out, but only the group owner
can do so and I was never promoted to that befoe the owner dissappeared. My
apologies for that, I have commitments that come first but I will always do my
best for the group.

One day I will look into setting up a group with threads and separate message
boards. I have not forgotten this plan. Things will be easier then to keep
different conversations running, but time is my greatest enemy and I can't do
that right now.

However, there is a new Raccoons resource online that I think we should all give
our full support to. We all love Wikipedia but its coverage of the raccoons is
poor. Therefore thanks to the actions of 'RaccoonChipmonk' a Raccoon wikia has
been constructed. This can be edited by anyone and is basically a mini wikipedia
on nothing but our show. We have 227 articles and the site is in its infancy,
some articles only a few lines long, but with our combined knowledge we could
make that into an ultimate resource with everything you could possibly want to
know on the raccoons. I'll add it to the links section, Or follow this link to
check it out

We could make this site fantastic. It's been open since the 20th May 2009 and by
the looks of it RaccoonChipmonk has worked alone for most of that time. He's
done a fantastic job, now let's give him some help from the shows number 1 fan
group!

Thanks for your support

I am pleased to be the first member, and I would be truly honoured to be a
moderator for your new site. The layout is great, its exactly the sort of thing
I'd have been looking for. I can see great things happening there and I'd love
to be a part of the building process. Thank you.

Never fear, the emailing site will continue going strong. The forumboard is a
supplement and an reinforcement, not a replacement. Because of the forum style
it has the benefit tht if, for example, somebody has a really in depth
conversation about a character it does not dissappear into the backlogged
archives after a few weeks.

I'm excited with these two new developments

adding the wiki link to the webpage as well as the link to this list to help

and improve the untiy of the group, site, and raccoons wiki. Membership currently
does not require approval, and hope we wont have to due to bogus names and loads
of spam. I encourage all of you to look around and send me plenty of feedback on
what you would like to see added to preserve what we all cherish.

I'd have been looking for. I can see great things happening there and I'd love
to be a part of the building process. Thank you.

supplement and an reinforcement, not a replacement. Because of the forum style
it has the benefit tht if, for example, somebody has a really in depth
conversation about a character it does not dissappear into the backlogged
archives after a few weeks.

style website with a forum set up for this group. Considering that
Brother_ralph2 mentioned that he has been very busy and unable to make changes
due to him not being the site owner, I figured I would do a little something to
help out. If anyone has ideas for forum topics, pleae let me know. Or, if you
think it's a bad idea to have the site up, by all means, let me know. I'm just
trying to make the group a back-up home in the event something wee to happen
here. I would like to hear all the opinions I can from all of you, including
Brother_Ralph2. Oh, and a special note to you sir, due to your lmited abilities
here, it would be an honor and a privelage to have you as a moderator on the
site where you will be able to make changes as you find them needed. Hope
everyone had a happy new year and certainly hope all of you enjoy what I have to
offer and help me help make it a nice place for all of us.

Those are some nice pictures you've drawn. I particularly like the one of Lisa,
Bert, Broo and Bentley. Also, welcome to the group!

I'm not sure where to get the actual LP, but if it's just the songs you are
looking for then there's the mp3s of all the Evergreen Nights tracks on Jim
Gilsinan's website.
