This is an excellent 600 ohm, low impedance, dynamic microphone. It will NOT work well on a high impedance radio. You must know the microphone input impedance specs on your radio before using this mic with any success. Most newer solid state radios are of the low impedance microphone design. About all of the older tube type radios are of the high impedance microphine design. Good Luck with your microphone.

Hello, I am posting this message to offer a Demco
Satellite for rebuild or at least major cleanup. I found it after many years of
storage and it is a touch rusty and dirty. It might not work anymore, it did
when I put it in there years ago and forgot it. The radio would belong to whom
ever does the work on it. I don’t want anything for it. I just want it to
be redone to working condition. Someone would have to make me that promise and
pick it up in Greenville, Michigan. I only have half of one eye left and cannot

I am fairly certain that most members are familiar with Alan, from
TubesPlus.com, also known as "Fixer 7526".
I just wanted to recommend his service based on his complete overhaul of my
Browning Mark II and Browning 180. Alan is a top rate technician and my radios
are talking great after his efforts. Not bad for 35 year old tube types!
Thanks for your help Alan.
Dan
I use a set of Satelite Deluxes when I'm not trying out a Browning, Tram or
other repair. Mine is like most with some of the crystals in the transmitter off
frequency, so I use a PAL VFO. They have the 6CW4 nuvistors and the front panels
are in good shape. The locals and others when we have skip conditions say they
sound great. With the load and plate on the front of the transmitter you can
easily match whatever you are driving behind it.

have some degree of surface rust on the faceplates from the effects of humidity
over time. The manufacturer obviously did not go the extra mile and protect it
with clear coat or some other sealant of that era. The radio usually brings
between $200 to $400 on eBay depending on cosmetic and operational condition.
It's an eye catcher when its turned on with all the neon lights lit up on the
panel. From my experiences the crystals are usually off frequency in the
transmitter by this point in its life . You will most likely get reports of off
frequency when driving it with the modulator and a good high impedence
microphone if they are. There are at least 2 versions of the super reciever; one
with the nuvistor tubes (small metal cans about the size of a pencil eraser
head)which is the better of the two, and the other with regular size glass
envelope tubes of the 6BZ6 type if I remember correctly. The schematic on
CBTricks.com is for the reciever with the nuvistor tube. Mine has the 6BZ6 type
and is boxed up in storage until I can spare about $200 to restore it
operationally to factory specifications. I was able to get almost all of the
surface rust off the faceplates with chrome polish and/or Mequires car wax. Hope
you can find the information you need to get it running and have some fun with
it. They appear to be quite rare in good to excellent condition. Most have been
abused and neglected.

Promised I'd look for my book. Here is all the pages from the Sams CB9 on the HB-400. The schematic was cocked when I scanned so I did another of just the schematic.
On Ebay, if you need a Sams CB book look for listing from Carols Manuals. They are usually 5.00 + shipping. Cheapest price you will find most of the time if they have the book your looking for. Google "Sams CB photofacts" and you will find sites where you can look up a radio to see which book its in.
Enjoy.
