I have a mark IV, takes about 20-25 minutes to "warm up" before i can "spot" a channel, i have checked and replaced all tubes that were less than 75%,...
There are numerous capacitors & resistors that go bad in these older radios as time goes by! Not always the electolytics either. Disc & paper tube capacitors...
