Tunisian Crochet Email Group

Whether you call it Tunisian, Tricot or Afghan Stitch, you've found the right place! Welcome to our Group!

There is a myth that Tunisian crochet is dense, stiff and heavy. There is also a myth that it uses enormous amounts of yarn. While this might have been true 40 years' ago, it's not true any longer. Any needlework (crochet, knitting and Tunisian crochet) can be dense and stiff when worked at a tight gauge. Working at a tight gauge uses more yarn. But, like other needlework, you don't have to work at a tight gauge. Take a look at the projects I've posted on this Pinterest board here to see the modern look of Tunisian crochet.

We encourage anyone interested in learning Tunisian Crochet to join us in our cozy home on the web! Pull up a chair, have a cup of tea, and get out your hooks! Join us in our crochet, our chats, and our projects!

Upon membership approval, you will find out about projects and you can see our Tunisian Crochet book/pattern "library" (go into "files" at the left of the homepage screen). You can also peek in our "closets" by going into "links" for other tunisian crochet/crochet web sites. Feel free to explore!

We look forward to hearing from you!

Angela "ARNie" Grabowski and Kim Guzman
