Hello UCO,

We've had some good Wednesday night UCO meetings this summer so far!

#4 is coming up this Wednesday, 8-9:30pm at the Gunson Prayer Room (it's on Grand River across from the two-story McDonalds and is in the "Pregnancy Services" building on the right side of the building). The title is "Hearing the Lord – Part 1 - How to read out a scripture at a prayer meeting."

We've been doing our series on "How-To Do Charismatic Prayer Meetings." We've also already read "Growing in Faith" by Steve Clark and we'll start reading our first selection from "Knowing God's Will" this Wednesday.

The remaining 3 UCO Wednesdays for the summer are in-a-row: Jun 11, Jun 18, Jun 25.
Hearing the Lord – Part 2 – How to give a Prophecy
Hearing the Lord – Part 3 – How to give a word in tongues, Interpretation of Tongues, and words of knowledge
How to do Intercession at Prayer Meeting

See you Wednesday!
-Brian

UCO Movie night this Friday at 8:30pm at the men's house 1225 Weber Drive.

The Movie will be the Scarlet and the Black. This movie is about a
Catholic Priest in Rome during World War II who helps escaped
prisoners of war get to Switzerland.

This movie is definitely worth seeing.

Hope to see you there.

P.S. There are only two more UCO Wednesday summer prayer meetings left on June
18 and 25. Come on out...

Hello UCO!

I wanted to invite you to the first of it's kind UCO Bocce Tournament. If you
remember the Bocce from the finale party, you know what you're getting yourself
into. If not, there's only one way to find out. Here's the rundown:

What: UCO Bocce Tournament
When: Friday (6/27) at 8:00pm
Where: Slater Park (in Groesbeck near the Weber men's house)

We'd like to try a doubles tournament, so you're welcome to come with a partner
(costumes/uniforms will not be frowned upon). If you don't have a partner, come
anyway and we will set you up.

If you have any questions contact Andy at 482-9377 or chris471@...

Hope to see you there,

Andy Christopherson (the bracketologist)

Dear UCOers,

Many of you know Mary Gernon and are aware that she returned to her family in
Canada earlier this past spring. Mary served on our UCO staff for a couple of
years doing a lot of outreach work and administrative tasks. She was one of the
key behind-the-scenes people who did a lot to make things happen in our UCO
chapter. Needless to say, she is dearly missed.

Unfortunately, we were not able to throw a going away party for her. However,
we still want to acknowledge all her service, express our gratitude for all her
work, and honor her for the blessings she brought to us during her time with us.
Instead of doing this orally as we would at a party, we're going to do it on
paper and send it to her.

You can contribute to this effort by writing an appropriate note, even including
pictures, addressed to Mary, and email it to me. Be sure you sign your name to
it. I will then compile everyone's notes and get them to Mary. The end product
will likely take the form of a booklet or a collage, depending on what I receive
from all of you.

Please get your contributions to me no later than Friday, July 25. Thank you
for your help with this project.

Hello UCO,

Is summer really ending? No way. Let's enjoy the last days before school
starts again. I have a few things to share with you.

1. Pray for people at Campus Outreach Academy. This Academy has been
running in Ypsilanti, MI since last Saturday and ends next Sunday. Say a
prayer for your people from UCO Lansing at the COA: me, Kevin, Andy
Christopherson, Marie Repovz, Stacey Smith, Claire Darnell and Mary
Schaefer (happy birthday to Mary today!).

2. Gabe Young will be returning to the USA Sunday evening, August 17. Is
anyone available to drive down to Detroit Metro and pick him up? He will
be living with the Joy family next year and the Joys have a family event
that keeps them from getting him. This would be a loving service to our
brother Gabe. If you can do it, reply back to me.

3. Get ready for our first UCO meetings this fall. Three things: we'll
gather people to pray sometime around August 20 (stay tuned),
Sparticipation is Saturday, August 23, and the first UCO prayer meeting
will be Wednesday, August 27.

Hey everyone!

Please check your email again sometime before 7:00pm tonight. We will
NOT be meeting in the Tower Room at the MSU Union. There was a
scheduling conflict that was not able to be resolved. We are in the
process of confirming the new location of our Prayer Meeting tonight. We will
still meet at 7:30, just in a different location.

For you that are new to this list - it was great to meet you at
Sparticipation, on campus, or however we've gotten to know you. Please
forgive this inconvenience - but we would love to see you tonight! We
are going to have a lot of fun, a great time of worship, be called on to love
our God more, and then we'll hang out afterward and get to know
some new people!

Don't forget to check your email again - we'll get the location out to
you by this afternoon at the latest.

Look forward to seeing you and having a blast with you tonight!

Hello everyone!

Well, we've got a new location for tonight's prayer meeting.  We will be at the Work of Christ Community Center at 4828 S. Hagadorn Rd. in East Lansing - time: 7:30 pm.  This building is almost directly across from Hubbard Hall on Hagadorn.  Click here to see a googlemap of the location (look at the red marker, not the little yellow guy).  You can also check out the attachment (look in the lower right-hand corner of the map).

We've faced some opposition to getting this prayer meeting set up - so I'm excited to see just how great this first prayer meeting of the year will be!  Again, we'll have some fun, have some prayer, meet some new people - can't wait to see you all there!  If you are new, or haven't come for awhile, I want to especially express how welcome you are at this meeting - we love meeting new people, so head on over!

If you live on the west side of campus, and need help getting there, feel free to email or call me.

God Bless,
Kevin

Just writing to let you know about our service project followed by a
party going on this Friday, August 29th. If you're looking for a way to get out
and serve others, and have a great time doing it, this is the place to be!

We'll meet at 3pm at 4828 S. Hagadorn Rd. (The Work of Christ Community

Allen Community Center - doing some neighborhood flyering and outreach,
as well as serving a family or two with some projects. We'll work for
about 2-3 hours, then head over a house in Lansing that some of our
UCOers live in for dinner and party to follow. This is going to be a
great way to spend a Friday, please join us!

Please wear or bring clothes you can potentially get dirty, and bring 3
dollars for dinner.

This is important - we need your RSVP by noon on Friday! Email
kevin.hadsall@... to confirm that you will come to the service
project. If you can only make it to the party in the evening, email the same
address and I'll get you directions/figure out a ride.

Hope you're able to make it!

  1. Let any friends you have at Calvin know about it and invite them to go.
  2. If you're able, come along to visit some UCO friends from Grand Rapids and to support our brothers and sisters
Hope some of you are able to make it.

Save the date 10/31 on your calander!  We will be having a Harvest Costume party.  More details to come!

1) The song title(s)
2) The artist

Please do me a big favor by not sending me tunes that contain, shall we say, "highly questionable lyrics" (Example: "Whatever You Like": Good tune, but even the radio edited version won't fly at the party.).

Finally, don't be shy!  I'll do my best to fit in all the requests!

Hi Everyone,

This Friday there is going to be a State wide prayer meeting in Ann
Arbor. Andy Christopherson and I are organizing rides. We need to know
who needs rides and who can drive.

If you can drive it would be greatly appreciated and would be
compensated for gas. Since this is fairly short notice a quick
response would be appreciated greatly. Just send Andy or I a message
at munkrobe@... or chris471@... and we'll figure out either
who your riding with or who your driving.

This should be a good opportunity to either meet some new people or

should be a lot of fun and we can't wait for Friday!

Just a few updates for this week:

My first reminder is that there will be no UCO meeting this week due to Thanksgiving.  I hope you all have a great holiday!

For the Ladies: we will be having our weekly study group on Tuesday 11/25 at 8:00pm in the Heritage Cafe in the basement of the Union.  Feel free to come,  and bring your friends, it's been loads of fun so far (and studying does get done too)!  Also if any of you ladies wanted to bring a snack to share, I'm sure no one would object;)

Keep the Christmas party on your radar as well.  You must buy a ticket ($10) for this formal event which will take place on December at the 5th at the Work of Christ Center.  There will be more on this later.

God Bless you all!
Bekah

Hey Everybody!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and got plenty of rest, relaxation, and turkey!

We are going to have our last prayer meeting of the semester (tear) this Wednesday 12/3 at 7:30 in the Tower Room in the fourth floor of the Union.  We are going to be doing things a little different this time including 1. starting on time (7:30), and 2. meeting in the foyer just outside the Tower Room.  So be sure to get there a wee bit early iffin you want to chat with all your UCO brothers and sisters beforehand.

Winter Ball is this Friday December 5th at 8:00 pm at the Work of Christ Center 4828 S. Hagadorn Road East Lansing Mi.  I'm so excited about this!  It's going to be great fun, so get your tickets ASAP!  They are $10, and you can buy them Wednesday at the meeting (so bring some cash with you).  There are only 50 tickets available, so don't delay, buy your ticket today! call, facebook, or email Tadhg, or Emily S. to reserve them before Wednesday.

Also looming ahead of us in the not so distant future is the deadline for Winter Cenference registration December 15th (if you miss this deadline there is a price increase).  You can register online @: www.winterconference.info.  You can also pay, check out some photos and other info on this website.   The Conference will be from January 2-4 in Columbus Ohio.  Come join over 400 students who are pumped about the Lord, and hear about "Hope for the World"  which is the conference theme.  Think about any of your friends who you think might want to come as well; we'll have flyers for you to give them available at the Wednesday meeting.

Well, I think that is officially the longest UCO email I've ever written!

God bless you,
Bekah
