The focus is Conceptual basics and how they relate to daily unschooling life - how the big picture is expressed in the details, not just "academics" but everything. Some call that approach "radical unschooling" - it's unschooling all the way, to the core (radix=root). As such, the discussion is Very Analytical and sharply focused on dissecting out which ideas move families closer to that core and which will move people further away.

Radical unschooling goes well beyond ideas of “teachable moments” and “the world as your classroom” to a view of learning as an inherent part of life itself. In essence, the "Unschooling Basics" - the core assumptions of unschooling, are as follows:
+learning is a central human endeavor
+learning depends on the percptions and viewpoint of the individual
+children are motivated by the same human needs, emotions, and responses as adults, including those related to learning.

The discussion will often focus strongly on the perceptions and viewpoints of children and how building joyful relationships is the key to supporting and enhancing learning.
