Description

On Oct 13, 2009 Secretary Shinseki announced that VA was approving Parkinson's disease to the list of diseases associated with Agent Orange. Our group has worked so hard on this for over two years. Below is our group description before adding this paragraph.

This Group is for all veterans who were exposed to Agent Orange and who have Parkinson's disease. Exposure may have been in Vietnam, Korea or elsewhere. If you were in Vietnam you are presumed to have been exposed. Join us in our fight to get Parkinson's disease recognized as presumptive to Agent Orange exposure by the VA.

We have an association called “US Military Veterans with Parkinson's” or USMVP for short, that has intensely researched and sought support from their congressmen and senators. This group is an extension of that. We have Congressman Bob Filner of California, (chairman of the Veterans Affairs committee) who sponsored a bill to place Parkinson’s on the presumptive list of diseases caused by Agent Orange. This Bill number is H.R. 1428 and we have 77 co-sponsors on the bill. We need each and every veteran who has Parkinson ’s disease to join us. To get more information and or to join our group contact Alan Oates email oldvet@aol.com or Steve Fiscus email swfiscus@msn.com. The Group has a wealth of information to pass onto you on Agent Orange and Parkinson’s. Don’t wait we need you and need you counted in the membership to be successful.

Currently we over 200 Veterans with Parkinson’s that have banded together to work on this project. We are flanking the issue on the political front, VA Claim front, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) front and the medical study front. Our efforts help bring about the IOM finding a positive association between Parkinson's and Agent Orange (herbicides. Come join us.
