Hi Tim,

I think you are right in thinking that the Vatican and the Catholic Church are
what Rome is representing today. They are a powerful force in the Christian
world. I believe that God's kingdom will set to rights the edicts that the
Catholic Church has set for the Christian world and return the standards to the
Bible based ones established by Christ. I don't have any basis for these
beliefs other than my own studies.

I wish you success in your search for answers, and I think Steve had a great
idea in researching the web for answers, although weigh them carefully as many
are the opinions of men. Search and pray, and God will direct you in the right
direction.

Anyhow since you volunteered to talk about whatever, here's my problem. I've
been studying the Book of Daniel lately, and I'm having a little trouble
grasping Nebadchunazzer's dream about the image. The different parts of the
body represent the kingdoms--Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and them Rome. Then
a stone cut without hands represents the Kingdome of God. That stone then
destroys the statue by crushing the feet. The significance of where the stone
hits the statue is when God's Kingdom will established on Earth. I'm ok upto
this point. Rome isn't here anymore to my understanding and God's Kingdom isn't
here yet either! So what am I missing? So this problem I'm having makes me
wonder if Rome is technically still the ruling kingdom on Earth, since God's
prophet can't be wrong. I think that the USA is the ruling nation on Earth now,
so are we somehow an extension of Rome? Or I had another thought. Maybe since
that Vatican rules over the Catholic Church which is all over
the planet that somehow this is how Rome is still a major kingdom. Somthing is
just not adding up in my head here. I fully trust the Word of God, so I know
the problem is not God's Word, but it's my brain. So maybe you've studied
Daniel as well and have some input.
