JASW is excited to
host the fourth annual Izakaya Pub Quiz! Get ready to answer
questions from new categories like "òaêªâpåÍFTW"
Teams of four
players answer various questions related to Japan and America (and
some downright random). Questions will be read either in English
or Japanese. But don't worry; we will assign everybody into
teams to level the playing field by spreading out Japanese speakers.
You can also register as a team of four (make sure you have someone
who is fluent/advanced in Japanese!). The highest scoring teams
will win prizes!
Happy Hour are from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. with light dinner buffet being
served. (Food and 1 beer/soft drink is included in
the participation fee.)

demand! Join JASW's mini cooking class series on July 11 to make a
cute character bento (often abbreviated to kyaraben)! Learn how to
make rice balls, animal shaped sausages and other basics of making
your bento fabulous. We will teach you the basics and the rest is up
to you to make your bento into a work of art...(Type "kyaraben"
in Google Image search to get a few ideas!) We'll have little gadgets
made especially for making kyaraben!
Attendees will get
their own bento box to take home. All other materials will be

celebration begins on Saturday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. with a
full-evening of activities including dancing and games. On
Sunday, July 15, a joint service will be held at 11 a.m. and will
be officiated by Rev. Brian Nagata, who will also serve as the
