It's not quite a laughing matter and a bit closer to the truth than is comfortable. Some three years back the fundamentalists took control of Wycliffe Hall, a theological seminary attached to the University of Oxford and which awarded degrees from the university. The fundamentalists, including Howie Ahmanson, had been active in Oxford for a good few years before hand (they are also active in Cambridge).
To cut a long story short the University of Oxford had to step in and force Wycliffe Hall to provide "proper" degree courses - not so easy as Wycliffe had basically sacked its academic staff opposed to fundamentalism.
