The Sikh Discipline is no Moortee or Butt-Pooja. For their worship, they don’t have faith in gods – Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu, godessess, or any others, Avtars, and elements, animals, plants etc.
Sikhs have faith only in the Guru, Gurbani and God. For their worship, they worship only God and nothing else. They do not worship even their own Ten Gurus – they have their full faith in them.
In the Sikh philosophy, value is only of devotion i.e. Bhagati. Guru Sahib included in Guru Granth Sahib, Bani of Bhgats etc. simply for examples without any consideration as to what they did – Moortee Pooja or not. Before the Gurus was only their Bhagti. It is exactly like myethologies that the Guru Sahib selected and included in the Holy Granth – just for examples. (Mythology means that it is not truth, but a cooked, fascinating story).
To enjoy real essence of Shabad, we need to dive deep into its meanings.
We need to keep in the mind that what we think, utter or do, should be withing ethics of the Sikh Faith, and it should not be, “I think, I believe, I do”, No, “I, my, mine), but all Guru, Gurbani, God and the Sikh discipline. If we go out of these, we damage the Sikh Faith, mislead Sikhs, and destroy Sikhi in our coming generations.
