Topics: Ensuring Your Program’s Standards &

Tuesday, August 14th
Delaware Hayes Services Building
140 N. Sandusky St. Delaware, OH 43015
Agenda for the Meeting
12:00-12:45 Networking Lunch: (Lunch is provided. You’ll provide the conversation.)
Our meeting in June resulted in a great list of questions that all sexual violence prevention specialists should ask. Have lunch and
conversation with your peers concerning critical questions like:
· What is risk behavior for sexual violence?
· Whose risks are we focusing on—the potential perpetrator’s or the potential victim’s?
· How do we define rape? Is coercion part of this definition?
12:45-1:15 Small Group Share-Out
1:15-2:15 Ensuring Your Program’s Standards While Engaging Community Partners
“What do you mean requiring teacher training and expanding my program to four sessions? I’m struggling just to get in.” If you ever had this thought about your sexual violence prevention work, come interact with other OSVPN members to find out what they’ve done to build comprehensive programs.

2:30-3:45 Fun & Engaging Activities for Use in Your Programs
It’s time for a bit of resource sharing. All OSVPN meeting participants are asked to bring one engaging activity that you use in the classroom or community. What’s a fun activity that you use to engage students? Have you developed or are you using an interactive activity during your programs that is fun for the students and either teaches or reinforces sexual violence prevention concepts? Need some help incorporating engaging activities in your program? Let’s learn from each other.
If you are interested in joining us please RSVP by Friday, August 10th so we know how many lunches to order!

About OSVPN: OSVPN is a network of sexual assault prevention educators/specialists in the state of Ohio , and others that want to support sexual violence prevention education work. Originally convened with the help of OCOSA in the summer of 2005, OSVPN is a network of sexual assault prevention educators that want to learn from each other and offer each other peer support. HelpLine of Delaware and Morrow Counties is now receiving funding through the Ohio Department of Health Rape Prevention VAWA funding to continue the great work of the OSVPN. Although HelpLine has taken on the responsibility of convening the meetings, these meetings are still for and lead by sexual assault prevention specialists from across the state. Feel free to join us!
Hope to see you there!
