I guess they were just fibbing.
As for the little mullee like fish, its not mullee at all but another
species of sheatfish. The Sindhi maccheras used to call it by an
interesting name that Im forgetting. They dont grow larger than a pound
but look almost identical to a small mullee.

Hi Munir AOA, Whatever little experience I have with lure fishing, it says that no specific lure can be specified for a particular fish for all times. WhichMessage 45 of 45 , Dec 24 1:13 AMView SourceHi Munir AOA,Whatever little experience I have with lure fishing, it says that no specific lure can be specified for a particular fish for all times. Which lure fish will take will depend on may factors namely; feeding habits of the fish, types of small fish/fries present in that particular area on which gamefish feeds, water clarity, flowing or still water, light intensity ie, morning/full sun, dusk time etc and above all, the retrieving technique. I personally prefer those plugs which resemble the small fish generally found in our waters. Secondly, dark color spinners (like mepps blackfury) work better at dawn and dusk times whereas shiny spinners work better in full sun.Than understanding the action of particular lure is very important. One can always practice retrieves before the actual cast and observe the action of that particular lure. The retrieve should give the natural look of a fish in distress. Anything unnatural wont appeal to the fish specially in clear waters. Depth at which the lure should be worked is also important. To summerise, one can read a lot about the basics but the bottomline is that one has to go out and try and try againRegardsSualeh

Sawl needs to be explored for lure fishing.I live in Lahore and mostly go to Sutlej River for fishing.I believe in all freshwater fishing reports, any fish caught on lure should be reported exclusively, alongwith details of the lure used.
I personally find lure fishing much more attractive than bait fishing.Regards

Hi Munir Sahib
I have always been fascinated by lure fishing and have caught more
fish on artificial lures than bait. Its an active method, one does not
get bored and keeps rooming around applying different techniques.
Technically speaking, all meat eaters can be caught with artificial
lures, however, most of us do not try much in lure fishing. My top
priority in lure fishing, like Prince Fateh, is brown trout ofcourse.
In plains, soul (Channa Marilius) always fascinates me more than
singhara and Mulley. Another fish that can be caught using artificial
lures is Goonch or Fauji Khaga which sometimes grows to over 100 kgs.
I have also been catching Talapias using a dry fly. Where do you live
and normally go for fishing?? Hopefully, it would be nice to exchange
views on lure fishing.
