I'm exploring the family of James TAYLER (bap Keevil, Wilts 19 Sep 1808)who according to censuses and baptisms was living at Manor House, Kilmeston from approx 1842 to 1872.
His first wife was Elizabeth Jane BAKER (not known when or where born) who's death was registered in Malmesbury, Wilts in Q2 1843 but who's second child (Margaret) was baptised at Kilmeston 18 May 1843.
James married his second wife (Caroline HITCHCOCK) at Etchilhampton, Wilts 11 Jan 1849 but all their children were baptised at Kilmeston.
Eliza Hitchcock (09 Dec 1849)
Simon Walter (04 Apr 1852)
Caroline Anne (24 Sep 1854)
James (13 Jul 1856)
James' death was registered 1874 Q3 at Warminster, Wilts, but I'm assuming that in fact he farmed at the Manor House in Kilmeston from approx 1842 until his wife sold it and moved back to Wiltshire after his death.
If anyone can throw any light on his time in Kilmeston I'd appreciate it.
