So you have the full version Of Magic 3d?
You can use the supplied dmx input dongle connected to the output of the interface you use for lightfactory.
Or you can setup lightfactory to output artnet and set magic 3d to use artnet input.
I only tried the free version of magic3d and had to use the aforementioned hack using the free program dmxcontrol as an intermediary.
If you can't get a profile for your visualiser but you have one for lightfactory then you can cheat, by programing using a different but similar fixture in your visualiser and lightfactory, then switch fixtures in lightfactory when you get to the venue, lightfactory is pretty good at switching fixtures. But still you need to check your looks are what you wanted and fix any little glitches. Not ideal but I'm gettting away with it until I can afford to buy the full version of capture.
Do any of the visualisers allow you to create your own fixture profiles? That would be great.
I saw a video of somebody who had designed a lighting rig in the 3d program blender and wrote a small program that let him control it with a dmx console. I looked into building my own fixtures in blender but it would mean becoming a blender expert......On Jun 29, 2012 10:31 PM, "juliadavey479" <juliadavey479@...> wrote:
I do have light converse also. However, the response times for new fixture profiles is not at all good so I'm reluctant to go back to this unless you can tell me a good way of getting profiles from them overnight?! By way of contrast, the response from nicolaudie was literally overnight!
