In light of recent events regarding
"Flash Mobs", there have been a number of incidents involving
our youth and violent assaults on the streets of Philadelphia. The
media is depicting African American youth as young as 11 years old as participating
in random acts of violence on video. The events are happening more
often and becoming more violent. Since these youth also have the
highest drop out rate and truancy rates as well as being categorized
as "more likely to kill or be killed", this situation requires
an urgent, strategic and organized response.
