Hey guys I was at frys this weekend and came across Lenmar ProAA2D Battery adapters. Basically they take your AA rechargeable NiMH batteries and adapt them to work in Size D required electronics like our favorite lanterns, radios, air pumps, etc etc. They also have them for C batteries. I bought a set and tried them on my air pump woah the power it had afterwards.
I found that Wal-Mart has the best deal on NiMH batteries. You can get a 1 hour charger and 4 batteries that even works in the car for about $19 the extra batteries for that same brand run just under $7 a 4 pack AA which is the cheapest I have found NiMH batteries. The triple A's are just under $5 a pack of 4 and work in the same charger. The batteries are memory free which means you don't have to bleed them entirely of energy to get them to recharge fully. The brand name is Digital Concepts and they have a 1 year guarantee.
Best of all Rechargeable batteries saves money and the environment.
Just thought I would give you all a money saving heads up with excal around the corner.
Also since we have been having quite a cold winter this year; If you want a safe reliable tent heater I highly recommend the Mr. Heater Portable buddies. Check out Wal-Mart and home depot for end of season clearances and sales on these portable wonders. I use bulk propane with mine I have the larger model which runs about $125 I think but the smaller ones run about $80 last I looked. Well worth the investment and the larger one has a built in fan to circulate the heat like a fireplace with a fan in it. It Takes D batteries which makes the adapters a great investment to run the heater fan or any camp fan all night.
