We missed the Cow chip throwing contest this year by minutes.
It ended at 3pm and thats when I thought to look for it while at the Corn Festival.
I do have a story to share. Remember former Cubs pitcher Ryan O'Malley who is from the Springfield area? I met his mom last year and asked if he ever participated in this event. She said that to her knowledge, he hasn't. I'd love to see how far a pro-pitcher could toss one of those...
