Stanislaus Pagan Unity Festival was a HUGE success! Throughout the day approximately 900 Pagans of all traditions, Pagan friendlies, and those wishing to face their fears of the Pagan traditions gathered. Many were more afraid of the weather man and waited to come out until they saw some clear skies. After about a 45 minute drizzle and shower in the early morning, they came by the herds with smiles on their faces to enjoy the wide variety of vendor offerings, awesome talks, dazzling dance, rocking sounds and Pagan fellowship.
Putting great odds and fear of water aside the festival was graced by excellent talks from M. Macha NightMare, Zsuzsanna Budapest, Oberon Zell-Ravenheart, Michael R. Gorman, Belisama, Rick Veda Nafsinger and Rabbit.
The entertainment was remarkable and we only had one cancellation due to car troubles. As always Land of the Blind entranced the whole park with their set. Hecate's Riddle turned up the volume a bit and rocked the park with their Pagan and Celtic variety pieces. Orchid and Zah Zahn the Dragon Dancer were absolutely breath taking with their belly dance acts. Orchid even came down from stage and gave a few of the kids a few pointers. Be sure to check out the AUP photo gallery for that and more.
The event ritual was fabulous with an official count of 82 people in circle with another 40 or so paying witness to some divine energies. Several people watched as the circle raised one hel of a cone of power that parted the clouds above us. It isn't every day a circle gets such meteorological phenomena but it certainly did this day and several paid witness to it. Oberon Zell was blown away when the unity dance converged above his head, the chant went into a healing bit and the unity wreath began its pulsing beat of healing above him.
Upon first count the event was nearly self sufficient raising enough money to pay for itself. However, we had several t-shirts left over and will be holding a T-shirt drive shortly. Please be on the lookout for that and support it if you can. The AUP will be matching the t-shirt sales and any money made over the breakeven point will go towards new entertainment acts for next year. Why does The AUP do such a thing? Because it isn't about money; it's only about making the Pagan vision of a better tomorrow come true. During the day several elders and leaders were surveyed and The AUP was able to collect much useful data which it will apply to it's mission and vision. We thank those who took the time out of their day to take the survey. The food drive was also successful collecting much food which will go to the less fortunate.
All and all the day was extraordinary and the fellowship divine.
