I have to gloat a bit. I won the 4th of July Shoot off with
Melinda. We shot 125 targets, 100 sporting clays and 25 trap and I
won this time. In her defense, she has not shot a lot so far this
summer. She had a 72 and a 17 and I had a 77 and a 22. We are
usually pretty even. I had a little advantage on the clays course as
I had shot there two weeks ago and a few of the stands were the same.

Regardless of the game you chase or the means you use, it is
important to practice in the off season and get out on the land that
you will hunt. Now is the time practice and to clean brush around
stands and build new ones.
We are both hooked on sporting clays so shotgun practice is easy.
What has happened to this group there used to be a few that hunted
with a shotgun?
